"Etta Place: Her Life and Times With Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" by Gail Drago is a great overview of information concerning not only Etta, but also Butch and Sundance. The author has done her research well, citing the most current information known to date of these colorful outlaws.5/5(3).

This book was really less about Etta Place herself, but the rest of the Wild Bunch, and the times they lived it. The sections on Etta herself were merely a collection of theories about who she might have been, and what might have happened to her.

I picked up a bit of pieces of trivia, but would recommend reading Gerald Kopland's novel Etta instead/5. Book Description Beautiful, elusive, and refined, Etta Place captivated the nation at the turn of the last century as she dodged the law with the Wild Bunch, led by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Her true identity and fate have remained a mystery that has tantalized historians Etta Place book /5(83). Etta Place--sweetheart of the Sundance Kid--doesn't have much of a bona fide biography, so Kolpan invents one and seems to have had a great time doing so.

Nasty outlaws, honorable cowboys, Pinkerton detectives, scary Mafioso precursors and a dizzying variety of historical figures (Buffalo Bill to Trotsky) cartwheel through the book--and it all /5. Etta Place's true identity is a question mark in history as is her fate which remains an intriguing mystery to this date but author Deanna Lynn Sletten has taken the few actual known facts about Sundance, Butch and Etta and Etta Place book a story out of whole cloth/5().

Etta Place's true identity is a question mark in history as is her fate which remains an intriguing mystery to this date but author Deanna Lynn Sletten has taken the few actual known facts about Sundance, Butch and Etta and created a story out of whole s: Miss Etta is the great novel every writer hopes to pen in their lifetime and the book every reader is dying to find.

By mixing known facts with fiction, it tells the story of Etta Place, Sundance the Kid’s wife. The book has action/adventure, with gunslinging bank robbers, brothels, and daring escapes/5(74). The way most people remember Etta Place: Katharine Ross with Paul Newman and Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid/ Douglas Kirkland, CORBIS Everybody loves a good vanishing act.

Literally hundreds of mysterious disappearances lurk in American history. Gerald Kolpan's ETTA (), tells the story through the eyes of Etta Place, the alleged girlfriend of the Sundance Kid. The book purports to tell the "true" story of Etta and Sundance and includes many historical figures such as Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Etta (Ethel) Place. The enigmatic Etta, (Ethel) Place is one of the Old West’s most enthralling mysteries. We know from her photo she was a beautiful, intelligent looking woman. According to author Donna Ernst her name was Ethel.

There’s almost nothing known about the real Etta. The Pinkertons knew her as "Ethel,” "Ethal,” "Eva," and "Rita" before finally settling on "Etta" Place for their wanted posters. After Sundance introduced her to Robert Parker (Butch Cassidy), the three joined the rest of their Wild Bunch gang and set off on a spree of bank, stagecoach, and train : D.

Herda. Pinkertons believed Etta was born between and Theories as to her origins are numerous. She may have been Laura Etta Place Capel, the illegitimate daughter of actress Emily Jane Place of New York who was a distant cousin of Sundance’s mother, Annie Place Longabaugh. Etta (Ethel) Place, girlfriend of Harry A.

Longabaugh, a.k.a. the Sundance Kid, is a mystery woman. We know from her photo she was a beautiful gal. Author Donna Ernst, whose husband is kin to the Sundance Kid, says she was called Ethel, but it’s unlikely Etta, Ethel or Place. Etta Place is known historically for her association with the notorious outlaws, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

ETTA MISPLACED takes an enhanced look at the life of Etta Place before, during, and after the years spent with Butch and Sundance; in the States, on their voyage to South America, and the adventures at their ranch in Cholila, Argentina/5.

What Etta Place Wants People to Know. When my son Percy was ten years old and had the mumps, I remembered the trick about a chicken riding on a dog. I told Percy to go to his window, and I went out in the yard and put a rooster on the back of a hound. The rooster kept falling off.

After a few tries, it stuck. Etta Place condos, named after Butch Cassidy’s notorious consort, are located at the lift #7 base area.
